Brahms - Haydn Otto Klemperer
The great mid-20th-century conductor Otto Klemperer made his debut with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks in 1956, at the age of 71, and his performances with the orchestra were hailed as ‘utmost perfection’. This newly remastered recording features two contrasting symphonies, Brahms’s Symphony No. 4 and Haydn’s Symphony No. 101, ‘The Clock’, recorded in 1956 and 1957.
