Debussy: Nocturnes, L. 91 & Other Orchestral Works
The Singapore Symphony Orchestra and Lan Shui complete their trilogy of albums of Debussy's orchestral works. As well as the well-known, Whistler-inspired Nocturnes, the album includes some unusual commissions, including the Berceuse héroïque written for the King of Belgium, the Rapsodie for saxophone and orchestra, and the Deux Danses for harp and string orchestra. Debussy's early Printemps was arranged for orchestra years later by Henri Büsser, supervised by the composer, and is also included in this wide-ranging collection.
