Dvořák: Symphony No. 9 - Copland: Billy the Kid
The first recording from the National Symphony Orchestra's own record label pairs two works that are central to the American classical canon: Dvořák's "New World" Symphony and Copland's Billy the Kid. Dvořák's beloved work was written during his stay in the USA and draws on American folk songs and African American spirituals, while Copland's suite conjures up the spirit of the Wild West. Gianandrea Noseda conducts.
