Grieg: Violin Sonatas - Hemsing: Homecoming

Norwegian violinist Eldbjørg Hemsing plays the music of her compatriot Edvard Grieg with pianist Simon Trpčeski. Grieg wrote his first two Violin Sonatas in his early twenties, and his third almost 20 years later – the last chamber composition he finished. Hemsing concludes the album with her own solo violin work Homecoming, a set of variations on a folk tune that an ancestor of hers sang, and that Grieg himself used in his Ballade for piano.
