Wayne McGregor: Collaboration
Choreographer Wayne McGregor, a leading figure in the world of contemporary dance, has been working closely with musicians and other creative artists for 25 years. McGregor has curated this album for Mercury KX to celebrate some of his key musical collaborations during those years. His varied musical accomplices include Max Richter, Nico Muhly and Kaija Saariaho, as well as figures from outside the classical world including Jlin and A Winged Victory for the Sullen. Sir John Tavener’s music for the ballet Amu receives its world premiere recording.
