Weber, Krommer & Baermann: Clarinet Quintets
Carl Maria von Weber was a leading champion of the clarinet when the instrument was still in its infancy. Alongside his well-loved Clarinet Quintet is an Adagio by Heinrich Baermann – the clarinettist whose playing inspired Weber – as well as the Clarinet Quintet by the Czech composer Franz Krommer. Eric Hoeprich is principal clarinet of the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, and here performs with the London Haydn Quartet.
