Orchester Wiener Akademie with Thomas Hampson and Benjamin Schmid at Brucknerhaus Linz
Orchester Wiener Akademie and its founder and musical director Martin Haselböck are joined by baritone Thomas Hampson and violinist Benjamin Schmid for a programme including Beethoven's Violin Concerto and songs and arias by Beethoven and Schubert.
About this event
A highlight of Orchester Wiener Akademie's Beethoven year was going to be its performance of the composer's violin concerto with soloist Benjamin Schmid at the Vienna Musikverein, planned for March 2020. That concert, alas, fell foul to the COVID lockdown. This concert, filmed at the Brucknerhaus Linz in August 2020, makes up for the cancellation: it features not only Beethoven's concerto, but also arias and songs by Beethoven and Schubert performed by the celebrated baritone Thomas Hampson.
The concert complements the Orchester Wiener Akademie's recordings of Beethoven’s symphonies and piano concertos, released earlier this year under the title "Resound Beethoven".
Your ticket purchase will directly support the participating artists through IDAGIO’s Fair Artist Payout Model: IDAGIO pays 80% of the net revenue directly to the performers.
