Movers and Shapers in Classical Music: Grammy Award-Winning American Symphonic Chorus Conductors
Dr Eugene Rogers takes over Thomas Hampson's World of Song series this month, with Movers and Shapers in Classical Music, a series that features powerful conversations with composers, conductors, singers and musicians mostly from the United States who have a global impact on the field. Dr Rogers, our guest-host and curator for August, will spotlight the work of the Sphinx Organization and The Washington Chorus. He will also host a two-part series featuring Black compositional voices who are shaking up the field with their unique sounds and perspectives as both performers and composers.
Join us for this compelling conversation and meet some new influential creatives in the field of classical music. His guests in this episode include two Grammy Award-winning conductors: Duain Wolfe, Director of the Chicago Symphony Chorus, and Robert Shafer, Director Emeritus of The Washington Chorus.
