Music Finland – Star conductors celebrate the "Maestro of the Maestros"
In its inaugural year, the Fiskars Summer Festival will culminate in a special concert marking the 90th birthday of the legendary conductor and teacher Jorma Panula. This exceptional concert, celebrating Panula’s work in training several generations of Finnish conductors, will be conducted by Panula himself and Jukka-Pekka Saraste, as well as special guests Esa-Pekka Salonen, Dalia Stasevska, Klaus Mäkelä, and Sakari Oramo. The concert is a collaboration between LEAD! Foundation Academy and the Finnish Chamber Orchestra.
"Jorma Panula has made an immense contribution to the Finnish conducting tradition, and to establish the LEAD! Foundation Academy close to his 90th birthday symbolises a continuity from one generation of conductors to the next" – Jukka-Pekka Saraste
