Nature and Life 1 – Mahler, Beethoven and Haydn with Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia & Daniele Gatti
About this event
Live from Rome, Daniele Gatti joins the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in a pair of concerts celebrating the Austrian musical landscape, from Haydn to Beethoven and Mahler, with Austrian baritone Markus Werba as soloist.
In the first programme, nature is pitted against military life in Beethoven's powerful "Egmont" Overture, Haydn's "Military" Symphony, and a first selection from Mahler's remarkable songs from Des Knaben Wunderhorn, for which orchestra and conductor are joined by renowned Lieder interpreter Markus Werba.
