Global Concert Hall
About this event
The Wanderlust Series in IDAGIO’s Global Concert Hall concludes with Schubert's Schwanengesang, performed by renowned German bass-baritone Stephan Loges and pianist and series curator Jocelyn Freeman. The composer’s publisher fashioned these fourteen late songs into a cycle after Schubert’s early death in 1828, bringing together some of his most powerful and haunting songs to form a compelling whole.
The event includes a virtual green room conversation with both performers and Dr Natasha Loges, chaired by Natasha Riordan.
The Wanderlust Series is curated by pianist Jocelyn Freeman, and presents songs celebrating both the rewards of roaming in nature and the earnest interior world of conflicted personal journeys. Paying homage to Wilhelm Müller's love of travel, this series also includes the complete Schubert song cycles. All performances are subtitled in English using translations by Richard Stokes, author of The Book of Lieder (Faber, 2000).
Your ticket purchase will directly support the participating artists through IDAGIO’s Fair Artist Payout Model: IDAGIO pays 80% of the net revenue directly to the performers.
