Great Performers: Daniel Barenboim

One of the most exceptional artists of our time, Daniel Barenboim's remarkable career spans several decades, with numerous accolades along the way. The Argentine-born pianist and conductor has founded several orchestras, as well as initiating many highly-acclaimed solo and ensemble projects, and is currently the music director of the Berlin State Opera and the Staatskapelle Berlin. A supporter of human rights, Barenboim has been described as a 'politically-committed musician' and is perhaps best known for his work with the West–Eastern Divan Orchestra.
