Music for Mealtime
For intense cooking sprees, it is advisable to leave the ingredients of this culinary playlist running. Music for cooking and eating! Playlist curated by Arno Lücker.
Read more…Do not let yourself be seduced by advertising! Ready-made pizza, overcooked canned corn and cakes from the freezer section should be the exception, not the rule!
Yet even in this hand-made playlist, music commemorating frozen pizza, canned vegetables and ready-made cakes should not be omitted. Giuseppe Verdi’s ‘La Donna è mobile" not only provided background music for the extremely complicated preparation of a frozen pizza, but also featured in commercials advertising a cornflake-almond-chocolate concoction (“...now also available in white chocolate!”).
On hearing the strains of the Radetzky March by Johann Strauss I, some older TV junkies may still envision lively corn kernels jumping joyously out of a tin for no apparent reason. And for many TV watchers, Amilcare Ponchielli’s ‘Dance of the Hours’ from the opera ‘La Giaconda’ will likely be forever connected with the thought of whether it is unimaginative or not to buy ready-made tarts from the freezer compartment. Yes, of course it is unimaginative! Cake for your grandmother should be bought from a fine confectioner - or even better, bake it yourself!
Greetings from the kitchen!
