Beethoven: Symphonies 5 & 6 "Pastoral" (Resound Collection, Vol. 8)

In their Resound series, the Orchester Wiener Akademie and conductor Martin Haselböck have not just performed on period instruments, but also arranged themselves in the orchestral formations that would have been used in earlier times. The final volume in this series contains Beethoven’s Fifth and Sixth Symphonies, premiered together in 1808. They recorded these works in Beethoven’s favourite concert venue, the Landhaus Saal of Vienna’s Niederösterreich Palais.
