Fazil Say: Violin Works
Fazil Say is a composer and a pianist, and is present in both capacities on this album. His complete works for violin comprise two violin sonatas, the solo piece Cleopatra, and the richly atmospheric concerto “1001 Nights in the Harem”. All are performed by violinist Friedemann Eichhorn, and Say is at the piano for the two sonatas. Christoph Eschenbach conducts the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern in the concerto.
