Exclusive: Schubert & Strauss – Franz Welser-Möst & Wiener Philharmoniker

For only their second subscription concert after the COVID-19 lockdown, Franz Welser-Möst joins the Vienna Philharmonic in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein for a programme rooted in the musical traditions of both the Austrian capital and the orchestra. The concert, recorded live on 21 June 2020 features Schubert's grandly conceived and irresistibly melodic early Third Symphony plus the brilliant Four Symphonic Interludes from Richard Strauss's autobiographical opera Intermezzo – music that takes us from waltzing and tobogganing through to moving fireside reflections.
