Shostakovich: Symphonies Nos. 4 & 11 "The Year 1905"

Winner of the 2019 GRAMMY Award (Best Orchestral Performance & Best Engineered Album, Classical). Andris Nelsons and the Boston Symphony Orchestra continue their acclaimed Shostakovich cycle on Deutsche Grammophon. The vast Symphony No. 4, withdrawn before its planned premiere in 1936, is paired with the vividly evocative Symphony No. 11, composed two decades later to commemorate the events of the 1905 Russian Revolution.
