Internationale Hugo-Wolf-Akademie: The Complete Hugo Wolf
About this event
The Internationale Hugo-Wolf-Akademie makes its debut in the Global Concert Hall with excerpts from six different concerts in its series "Der ganze Hugo Wolf", surveying the complete song output of composer Hugo Wolf. This concert is available to watch on demand for four weeks after the initial stream.
In March 2016, the Internationale Hugo-Wolf-Akademie launched "Der ganze Hugo Wolf", an ambitious undertaking to bring all of Hugo Wolf's songs to the concert stage over following years. By December 2019, the series had already reached its tenth concert, and had seen performances of over 200 of the approximately 300 songs composed by Wolf. The series, planned and curated by Brazilian pianist Marcelo Amaral, is expected to be completed by 2022.
This event is presented as part of the Arts@Future series in the IDAGIO Global Concert Hall, curated by the Hampsong Foundation. High-quality performances from a variety of music conservatories, universities, festivals, young artist programs, and arts organizations will give audiences a unique glimpse into the creativity and talent of the next generation of classical artists poised to launch their on-stage careers.
70% of the net revenue from ticket sales will go directly to the organization or educational institution making each live presentation possible.
