About this event
Joseph Bologne (1745-1799), born to a wealthy planter and African enslaved woman in the then French colony of Guadeloupe, was a famous swordsman, violinist and composer. Bologne’s highly virtuosic violin concertos have been rediscovered by music researchers and music lovers alike for their vibrant energy and virtuosity. Violinist Augustin Hadelich, alongside Music Director Louis Langrée and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, brings the overlooked work of Bologne’s A Major violin concerto to life.
